Guess What...

I changed my mind, I tend to do that a lot. After 15 weeks 6 days post-relaxed I self relaxed. And boy oh Boy am I every happy with my progress. I've never had luxuriously full thick hair like my sisters but my new length just has my cheeks hurting.

I based my hair line with vaseline and put Chi Silk Infusion on my previously relaxed ends. I relax with Mizani Butter Blends in Fine/Coloured strength. I relaxed my new growth in one step & used Jen's method of sectioning the hair before hand. I really love this method, because this time I was not under processed at all.

As I am beginning to rinse the relaxer out, I pour a healthy amount of white vinegar in my hair to start the neutralizing process, I makes the room smell like eggs but it decreases the amount of burns I end up with each time.

After rinsing out, I applied Aphogee's two minute keratin reconstructor for 2 minutes, then apply the neutralizing shampoo. Now because I used the vinegar the first time, the suds were white, I shampoo'd twice. Then applied Roux Porosity Control for 2-3 minutes, rinsed then applied the Neutralizing conditioner and left that on for 20 minutes with a shower cap as I showered.

After rinsing the conditioner out, I towel dried and sprayed in Aphogee's Keratin & Green Tea Reconstruizer Leave In, Tresemme Heat protectant, and Organix Coconut Milk serum, detangled with a wide tooth comb, and then rollerset my hair.

It took about 45 minutes under the dryer  to be completely dry.

After the take down I applied PM skinny serum, wrapped my hair in saran warm and when back under the dryer for another 5 minutes. *whew*

The Morning After (today)

So My goal of APL is checked off, on to MBL!!!

Rhelaxer Update: Jan 16 2011

So I thought I could stretch to maybe 24 weeks, but I couldn't do it. I made it a little past 14 weeks. I relaxed with the Mizani butter blends system mild formula this time, and it took to my hair fairly well, I was able to apply it quicker this time and spent a great amount of time smoothing the hair... here are the results although I didn't take pictures right after the treatment these are 1 week post...

I don't ever think I could get this long ever! APL here I come!!!!

Rhelaxer Update

I self-relaxed using Mizani Butter blends in Medium strength, as the mild left me under-processed all over...and this is how it went....

First off I sectioned off my hair into four sections. Based my scalp using the butter base and then used castor oil to protect my previously relaxed length and ends. Then, I started applying the rhelaxer to my crown areas ensuring to coat edges and nape last, this took about 8- 10 minutes. After all the NG was covered in the creamy crack, I started the smoothing process with a fine tooth comb about 5-8 minutes until I felt the burning sensation. I rinsed until the water stopped foaming, and applied a small amount of the balancing hairbath to remove any trace of relaxer.

I then applied a protein treatmeant, I use Ramoni rescue me and left this on for 15 minutes covered with a shower cap. I rinsed, then reapply the balancing hairbath to my scalp only massaged for about 2 mins and rinsed clean. I then applied the perpHecting creme to the entire head I let that sit for about 10 minutes as directed then hopped in the shower to rinse. I applied Motions moisture plus silk protein for 2 mins and detangled, no tangles and a lot of slip, followed quickly with my cheapie suave strawberry conditioner.

I let the hair air dry and then roller set using water and a bit of leave-in conditioner which I let air dry overnight. The next day I flat-ironed my roots only and wrapped my hair up until I was ready for my outing.

The Result: My hair was smoother than the last touch-up I did, however even though the relaxer was applied to my crown first, that area is more texlaxed than relaxed but it is soft none the less. I am very happy with the results. Unfortunately I did not take pics of the process or the final look after I combed out the wrap but...here are some pictures of post-relaxer day # 3 hair hope you enjoy
