Review: Organix Repairing Awapuhi Ginger Shampoo & Conditioner

I finally got around to using this yesterday, properly I should add.
These products are sulfate and surfactant free.

Shampoo:
Even though this is a sulfate free product, it gave bubbles galour and smells amazing! it left my hair strengthened without that hard feeling, and I was able to comb my fingers through without snagging! and this is just a shampoo.

Conditioner:
I used this as a DC with heat, and my hair loved it, the slip was amazing and the breakage was minimal during my roller set

I am definitely loving this product and am tempted to try the others the line has, I will continue to use these for wash days until they run out though before buying something else. Im trying not to hoard Hair products anymore as hard as it is....
but its definitely a keeper so far...

Dilemma!

I am out of the Nioxin pills, and in my search to get more, the price of these pills have sky rocketed! Like 65 dollars for a bottle of 90, previously I paid 60 including shipping for 2 bottles of 90.
I am looking into switching to hair infinity pills, but just recently the drugstore that I frequent had a sale on Nature's Bounty Hair and Nail Vitamins

I will give these a try in the mean time, if not I'll definitely order the Hair infinity

Im Back...

So Im finally Back from my trip and Thank goodness my hair survived. All that heat and sweat, not a good combo.
Any who, yesterday was my wash day...
I pre-poo'd with hot avocado oil for 30 mins with a scalp massage, and washed with organix repairing awahpuhi ginger shampoo, black tea rinsed, Roux PCC for 10 mins, and Deep conditioned with heat using Organix Repairing Awapuhi ginger conditioner for 15 mins.
Roller set hair.

Sectioning hair off for the set
this is all that was found in the comb
 Finished roller setting
after 45 minutes I gave up
flat ironed my roots, I'm 4 weeks post
 Finito
Now on to working in some thickness

On My Trip I Go

I will be gone for a little less than 3 weeks, I put in that beautiful peruvian hair that blogged about 3 posts before. Here is the final product, with just enough leave out to cover the tracks.

I am packing with me, the organix coconut anti breakage serum, my new mega tek, castor oil mix, heat protector and edge control. Also coming along are my flat iron and curling wand and flexi rods.

I can't wait to see my BF, 5 months is too long.

Au revoir!

Edges Revisited

Progress has been made, but I still need more TLC in this area
This 3 months of using JBCO
before  &   After

I've seen some posts about using Miconazole Nitrate AKA Monistat for regenerating hair follicles and hair growth
I'm looking into incorporating it, I will update you all if I do...

Ways to go,

Nioxin Recharging Complex: Reviewed

This Product is for Keeps!!!!

I took 2 pills a day for close to three months (april 6 is exactly 3 months)

I had been weaved up this entire time, and I swear I had to redo my weave every 2 weeks because the new growth was crazy. I estimate about 1 3/4 inches of new growth, which is the most I've gotten with any growth aid...

Shoot I went from

I definitely need to order more cracked pills and all,
I plan to start back up with one pill a day for the first month, 2 pills a day in the second month, then 3 the third...MBL here I come, then I can focus on thickness..

Guess What...

I changed my mind, I tend to do that a lot. After 15 weeks 6 days post-relaxed I self relaxed. And boy oh Boy am I every happy with my progress. I've never had luxuriously full thick hair like my sisters but my new length just has my cheeks hurting.

I based my hair line with vaseline and put Chi Silk Infusion on my previously relaxed ends. I relax with Mizani Butter Blends in Fine/Coloured strength. I relaxed my new growth in one step & used Jen's method of sectioning the hair before hand. I really love this method, because this time I was not under processed at all.

As I am beginning to rinse the relaxer out, I pour a healthy amount of white vinegar in my hair to start the neutralizing process, I makes the room smell like eggs but it decreases the amount of burns I end up with each time.

After rinsing out, I applied Aphogee's two minute keratin reconstructor for 2 minutes, then apply the neutralizing shampoo. Now because I used the vinegar the first time, the suds were white, I shampoo'd twice. Then applied Roux Porosity Control for 2-3 minutes, rinsed then applied the Neutralizing conditioner and left that on for 20 minutes with a shower cap as I showered.

After rinsing the conditioner out, I towel dried and sprayed in Aphogee's Keratin & Green Tea Reconstruizer Leave In, Tresemme Heat protectant, and Organix Coconut Milk serum, detangled with a wide tooth comb, and then rollerset my hair.

It took about 45 minutes under the dryer  to be completely dry.

After the take down I applied PM skinny serum, wrapped my hair in saran warm and when back under the dryer for another 5 minutes. *whew*

The Morning After (today)

So My goal of APL is checked off, on to MBL!!!

New Finds

So I made a trip to the drugstore today and look what I found on sale...

The Lovely Jen @ JustGrowAlready has me interested in these products, I know she uses the Paul Mitchell version, but this one looks promising

I can't wait to start using this when I get my touch up and get back to roller setting!

product reviews to follow when I get back from my trip...

Upcoming Trip...

So I have a trip to Ghana in two weeks and I do not want to go through what I did with my last trip. I know that I am due for a touch up in two weeks but I rather go with full weave in No leave out.

I have this beautiful peruvian hair that needs to be tested and Im thing to do an invisible part so that all my hair is concealed. I will do a pic update on that install. By that time I will know what I am bringing along with me on my trip in terms of hair.

I will definitely relax when I come back, no ifs ands or buts about it...
and that will accompany my length check and review on the nixion recharging complex that I have been religiously taking, as well as an update on my edges.

Old Loves Revisited...

Did I ever tell you guys what happened to my Elasta QP Mango Butter Moisturizer (original formula) on route to vegas last year? Well lest just say they made me throw it out going through airport security... the way I cried.

I have searched up down for a replacement only to find that they had changed the formula.

A recent trip to my local beauty supple store and I was amazed to find the original version on the shelf! *bbmdancingemoticon*

I plan to start using this as my moisturizer as I did before for my M&Sing. can't wait!

Also....

MegaTek! since I am trying my darnest to re-grow my edges, I thought it be wise to get a new stash,
I have made a mix of MT, JBCO, Coconut oil  and am applying the mix to my edges morning and night
I plan to do and update and length check hopefully april 5th or 6th when I relax my hair... I should be 16 weeks post at that point...wish me luck I currently am hiding my hair under a sew because I can't deal with the amount of NG, its ridiculous the what those Nioxin supplements are doing to me! I love it tho!

6 weeks on Nioxin...

It seemed as though ever 2 weeks I had too much new growth to deal with under my installs, so after 3 installs I've decided to take a little break from the weave...

I washed and DC'd as I normally do and heres some views

I think I have a little more than am inch in there of NG

I did have a lot of knots hence why I'm taking a break from the weaves for a bit

I want to claim APL but I don't know if I can But looking  at my hair makes me blush all over!

I plan to relax first week of april, I'm currently 10 weeks post relaxer hoping to make it to 16 weeks and get back on track, wis me luck!
